Brotherhood of the World

brotherhood_blog_award_featureI was recently nominated for the Brotherhood of the World Blogger Award by the Azra over at Simple Serenity. Firstly somewhat of a disclaimer, I’m not great at doing award posts (I find I’m not great at actually writing about myself…weird I know given my ability to wax lyrical about a cleanser or boutique hotel) but I thought this one with only 10 questions would be a great place to kick off February and to say thanks for recently hitting 1000 followers here on WordPress! Thank you to Azra for the nomination, if you don’t follow this beauty fanatic and all-round lovely lady, head over and subscribe now!

The Rules

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and post a link to his/her blog.
  2. List the rules of the award and post a picture of the award.
  3. Answer the questions from your nominator.
  4. Nominate 10 other bloggers and be sure to let them know.
  5. Write a list of questions of your nominees to answer.

Questions from Azra

1. What is your biggest blogging goal for this year?
So my goal for this year comes from my biggest challenge of last year which was to actually write posts. I had plenty of content and stuff to actually write about but I found juggling work/life/blog harder than the previous year when I was working less. I’m going to try and get organised and get back to my posting once a week schedule.

2. What is next destination on your travel bucket list?
This is such a hard question as I am so fortunate living in Bangkok to have so many opportunities to travel, and quite often do it relatively cheaply. I really want to visit South Korea and Taiwan so I’m always looking for holiday slots to fit those in! I’ve also not been to South America yet so that’s high up on the list as is New Zealand! Next stop is actually a long weekend in Laos and then back to Indonesia with family and friends in April.

3. What is one thing that you wish you can do but you are scared to do?
Its a total cliche but something adrenaline junkie-esque like bungy jumping or skydiving. My sister went skydiving a few times when she lived in New Zealand and loved it. I just don’t think I’m brave enough!

4. What is your current favourite meal to have?
Any excuse to go to Din Tai Fung for dim sum and I am there – so tasty and so cheap! It could be dangerous though as there is one opening just around the corner from my condo soon! If I’m in the UK I can’t resist some decent fish and chips – they’re always top of the list to have when I’m home in the summer!

5. What is your favourite dessert?
I love most desserts but as a child, I always wanted strudel and ice-cream!

6. What is last movie you saw and did you like it?
The cinema experience in Bangkok is amazing (think leather recliners, blankets and pillows for about £5) but I really don’t make the most of it! The last film I saw at the cinema was Dunkirk which I really enjoyed but blubbed my way through whilst simultaneously ogling Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy.

7. What is your favourite song of the moment?
I feel like in Bangkok I don’t watch TV or listen to the radio that much that I’m a bit out of touch with whats going on out there in the land of music! Most recent adds to my Spotify playlist were Cleopatra by The Lumineeers, and Wild Horses by Birdy – I don’t think I can narrow it down to just one song!

8. What are your favourite blog posts to read?
Admittedly this is a wide category but it would have to be review posts, be it beauty or travel. I love reading travel reviews of places I want to go, I usually always end up choosing hotels through blog post recommendations. I have to credit Sarah from Fit Travels with being my own personal TripAdvisor! And I very rarely buy any product without checking if it’s been reviewed by any of my favourite bloggers first!
