Review ~ Anantara Lawana, Koh Samui

We’re currently on ‘mini-moon’. Given that Dave and I hadn’t seen each other since August before our wedding at Christmas, we thought we’d need some R&R once all the wedding and emigrating madness was finally over.

We spent quite a long time researching hotels; often inevitably put off by terrible TripAdvisor reviews, even on the most luxurious of hotels. Through Mr & Mrs Smith, the Anantara Lawana caught our eye. Right on the quiet northern end of Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui, it looked to have the right mix of luxury and chilled-ness! We took the plunge, literally, by opting for a Deluxe Plunge Pool room (Well, it is our mini-moon!) and crossed our fingers we’d picked well.

Fast forward 3 months. On arrival at the most tranquil reception ever, we were presented with cool flannels scented with peppermint, a traditional flower garland and the most delicious iced drink I think I’ve ever tasted. Needless to say I totally forgot to take a picture!

We were taken to our room which took our breath away…rather than me witter on, here are some pics to do the talking!

The Anantara Lawana really is a little slice of paradise and other than nipping over to the pharmacy (Mosquitos love my paleness…), we haven’t left and to be honest I don’t think we will. Unapologetically, we’re going to relish our 5 days of luxury and return to explore Koh Samui another time. Because let’s face it, I’ll need to get a job if I want to stay here again!
